NEW DSF-3 PASSES FIRST HD FIELD TEST: SoundField's DSF-3, the final link in a fully digital surround-capable SoundField microphone system, has successfully passed its first technical trials, providing digital 5.1 surround sound from a single DSF-2 microphone at the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea's home ground. The match, which was being transmitted in high definition by Sky Sports, marked the practical debut of SoundField's new DSF-3 system.. Read more...
SOUNDFIELD DELIVER SPORTING FIRST FOR SPANISH TV:
SoundField have been instrumental in bringing 5.1 surround sound to live Spanish television for what is believed to be the broadcast debut of live surround audio on the Iberian peninsula. Spanish PayTV channel Sogecable elected to follow the lead of other European broadcasters such as Sky TV and Premiere and begin broadcasting high-definition video and audio, commencing with the UEFA Champions League soccer clash between Real Madrid and AS Roma.

SOUNDFIELD HITS THE BIG SCREEN: The ST350 Portable Microphone System has been used extensively during production of the latest offering from the Harry Potter series of films. UK based Sound Engineer John Casali explains the advantages of recording film sound with the ST350 and the 'magical' benefits available during
audio post-production.
"I think SoundField's mics make lovely stereo recordings," he explains from the film's sound stage, "but on a complex film like this, the audio post-production guys quite often like to have an Mid & Side signal anyway, as it allows them more scope for altering the perceived stereo width at the post-production stage, and it can be useful as the basis for surround sound mixes. With the ST350, I could give them stereo or M&S from the one mic." Read more...
FRANCE 3 READY FOR HD: SoundField is delighted to announce that French state television channel France 3 has begun using SoundField systems, comprising SPS422B microphones and SP451 processors, to provide surround-sound audio for high-definition sports broadcasting. At present, all of France's state broadcast transmissions are in standard definition, but the SoundField systems are now installed in several of France 3's OB vehicles, ready for the HD sports coverage that France 3 will be offering in the near future.
